United States Racquet Stringers Association

During the summer of 1978, I worked at the Shelter Island Racquet Club and was taught how to string by Louise Gengler, who was the tennis pro. Louise had previously been captain of the Princeton Women's Tennis team and had also twice been #1 ranked in the US in Platform Tennis. She recently retired as the Princeton Women's Tennis Coach. Trivia: Her sister is married to Stan Smith...

The first racquet that I strung took me about 3 hours... The fastest that I have strung was on a Prince Classic in 10 minutes!

I find stringing to be very relaxing and almost Zen-like...

You bring it and I'll string it!
